Arts Award Adviser

Contract Type       Permanent, Part Time
Days 3.5 days per week (3 days learner facing, 0.5 days PPA)
Salary £26,000–£30,000 Full Time Equivalent

About the role

We are seeking an experienced arts facilitator to join our talented and committed team. The role will lead and deliver Arts Award provision, while also planning and delivering non-assessed creative activities for those who are not engaging in Arts Award work. Arts Award training will be provided if required. Key responsibilities include:

  • Support learners across the provision to identify, plan, and complete Arts Award projects in line with award criteria
  • Act as a mentor and facilitator throughout the learner journey, helping learners remain engaged and adapt plans where needed
  • Assess learner portfolios in line with Arts Award frameworks and criteria
  • Support learners to compile portfolios using written, visual, audio, or mixed-media evidence
  • Plan and facilitate creative and practical activities, including arts, crafts, and simple cooking projects for learners who are not engaging in Arts Award work.

Essential Criteria

  • At least three years’ experience working with children, including autistic children or young people.
  • Experience in, or strong interest in, arts education or creative practice.
  • Experience working with demand avoidant children including those with PDA
  • Ability to support learner engagement, confidence, and personal development.
  • Excellent organisational skills, including strong IT skills (for portfolio management & Arts Award administration)
